Volunteer/Internship Opportunities

The William Trent House is more than a historic site—it’s a place where stories of the past connect with our community today. As a volunteer or intern, you’ll play a vital role in preserving history, sharing diverse stories, and making history accessible to all.
Whether you’re passionate about education, research, public programs, or hands-on preservation, there’s a place for you here!

✔ Make a Difference – Help keep Trenton’s history alive for future generations.
✔ Learn & Grow – Gain valuable experience in museums, history, and community engagement.
✔ Be Part of a Community – Connect with others who share your passion for history and education.

Let us know what interests you.
Make History Come Alive—Volunteer!

Volunteers make the work of the Trent House Association possible. Volunteers are needed to help design and install exhibits, catalog our extensive furnishings collection and archaeological artifacts, welcome and serve refreshments to guests at events and programs, assist with mailings and social media posts, and so on.

Community members are encouraged to join one of the Trent House Association's committees.  The Buildings/Grounds/Collections Committee works to oversee the Museum, Visitor Center, and the grounds; maintain the furnishings in the Museum, which are owned by the Association; and manage the archives of documents, archaeological artifacts, and other items. The Marketing and Outreach Committee works to expand the Museum's visibility and its relevance to and engagement with our many communities. The Program Committee works to provide programs/events that meet the overall mission and vision of the Museum.
