February 9 Saturday 2:00 pm
The African Influence in Our Cuisine: Okra, black-eyed peas, and yams are a few of the foods brought to this continent by African slaves.  Food historian, Judith Krall-Russo, explores the influence of African cooking as seen in the cuisines of the Caribbean, Brazil, New Orleans, and the Deep South.  Join us to learn how African food influenced and inspired many of our favorite dishes.

March 16 Sunday 2:00 pm. The State of Dress and Undress in the Colonial Period:  Learn about the materials, styles and social conventions that shaped the clothing women wore in the 18th century.  Civilian re-enactor, Jean Bickal, uses pictures and models reproduction garments that she has made to illustrate the various states of dress and undress worn by women of the period.

May 4 Sunday 1:00 - 4:00 pm Annual Spring Open House:  The Open House will feature tours of the 1719 William Trent House, refreshments and at 2:00 p.m. Frank McKelvey from McKelvey Museum Associates, in Wilmington, Delaware will present  a talk and preview on The 1719 William Trent House Museum Orientation Exhibit.

Gardening related demonstrations and activities in our William Trent-era Kitchen Garden.

July 26 Saturday 2:00 Remedies from the Kitchen:  Judith Krall-Russo will discuss  the history and folklore of home remedies.  Before pharmacies people concocted their own remedies for everything from coughs to hiccups. Our ancestors relied on everyday foods that could be found in the kitchen or garden such as honey, spices, onions and herbs.  Some of the remedies are practial, some humorous and osme downright bizarre!
August 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 Fridays 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

September 20 Saturday 2:00 Coffee, Chocolate, Tea, Spices, and Many Other Items Too Tedious to Meniton:  18th Century Imports into Philadelphia:  Come and learn from the animated Deborah Peterson about coffee, chocolate, imported and patriotic teas, spices, sugar, salts, peppers, food colorants, isinglass, hartshorn, gum dragon and Arabic, pearlash, sweet oils, pickled sweetmeants, syrups, jellies, rose and orange-flower waters and many, many other items to numerous to mention here that were part of our Nation's earliest imported foods. 
October 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 26 Saturdays and Sundays 1:00 - 3:00 p.m
